Russian Universities welcomes Indian students

Education fair promotes Russian Education programs for Indian students. 

Mumbai: More than thousand students, aspiring for higher education abroad participated in Russian Education Fair 2015 on Tuesday, May 12. ‘Help is at hand’, says Russian Centre for Science and Culture as they launched the eleventh edition of ‘Russian Education Fair’ in Mumbai, bringing together aspiring students and educational providers under one roof.

A day-long event witnessed the gathering of representatives from 11 leading Russian Government institutions, including medical and engineering universities, promoting academic programs offered by Russia. The event earmarked the introduction to the eleventh edition of the educational fair, organized by Russian Centre for Science & Culture, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata in association with Rus Education – exclusively authorized by Russian Centre for Science and Culture, with an objective to promote Russian Education among Indian students.

Among the plethora of Russian Universities that had participated in the Education Fair, those renowned ones involved, Tver State Medical University, Volgograd State Medical University, Kazan State Medical University, Kazan Federal University, Russian International Olympic University, URAL Federal University, Far Eastern Federal University, Southern Ural State University, Orenburg State Medical University, Bashkir State Medical University and People’s Friendship University, offering UG and PG programs in medicine, engineering, sports management, aviation, aerospace, nuclear power technology, power plant management and many more. 

The Embassy of Russian Federation in India are promoting these programs and other opportunities to study in Russia, highlighting the quality of Russian Universities. “The cost of higher education in Russia is relatively cheaper as compared to that in India and other Asian countries, because it is highly subsidized by the Government of the Russian Federation. Majority of the Russian institutions also provides scholarship to the needy students. This includes free tuition and accommodation facilities for eligible candidates. Besides, counselling the students, we are also providing on the spot admission for aspiring students during the fair” said one senior spokesperson.

Novikov Alexi - consul general consulate of rusian fedration in mumbai added , “Student satisfaction is at 90%, not only due to the quality of teaching, but also because of the huge and varied cultural offer and the dynamic environment created by the lakhs of international students who study in the Russian every year. There are about 5,000 Indian students currently studying at various faculties of Arts, Science, Engineering and Medical institutions in Russia. In the past three years, the number of Indian.”

The Russian Federation also highlighted the opportunities to study in Russia, offered by Russian Government. “There are no pre-qualifying exams like CET, IELTS and many more for admissions to universities in Russia. Students should have a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant core subjects/degrees. In the case of SC/ST and OBC students it is 40%. Each academic year comprises of two semesters excluding annual holidays during July and August,” said Dminteen Vladinir director RCSC, Mumbai.
